If you really want to see a documentary that makes you second-guess the fast food industry, then you can't miss “Super Size Me.” The film was written and directed by Morgan Spurlock and featured his adventures of consuming nothing but McDonald's food for thirty days. I must admit that while watching this on my tvbydirect.com, I was eating a bag of potato chips; before the show was over, I had emptied the contents of the bag into the trash can. To make the show genuine, he visited several physicians who all gave him a clean bill of health; in fact, his fitness level was considered above average.
During the thirty days on the new diet, he consumed 5,000 calories a day and gained close to 25 pounds. He rarely exercised and limited himself to any type of strenuous activity; this is what most Americans do anyway, right? He became quite sick and it took him over 14 months to lose the weight. It really makes you think twice about consuming fast food because it does not do your body good. There's nothing wrong with doing it once in a while or with extreme moderation, but anyone who diets solely on fast food will want to see the effects it can have on you. Watch this movie!
